Have you ever felt incredibly pressured into adulthood? That’s what this song’s about. To be precise, it is about a person who as a child was incredibly loved and spoiled by their parents. Someone who was never blamed for any of their wrong doings and grew up thinking their entire life would be THAT easy. Well it turns out it’s not that simple. As they grew up, they started to feel the pressure from their surroundings, without anyone having their back. As an adult, we must be independent. We are responsible for everything we do or say. No more parents/guardians to apologize for our mistakes. We get fired. We get kicked out. We get blacklisted. Etcetera. We’re sure many if not all people feel this way from time to time. Adulting IS hard. It’s okay though, because you’re not feeling this alone .
“Oh Yeah” was born when we started to drive our band’s genre into a different direction. What started out as pop, semi indie-rock, and alternative rock with mostly slow, dynamic building songs, we dived headfirst into garage rock, pop-punk, rap-rock, etc. Though most people would call us alternative rock /garage rock, we call ourselves… POP RIOT. We then realized we need more relatable song themes/inspirations yet something we can get mad about, something we can riot for. “Oh Yeah” is the second song we wrote in this genre and will be featured in our upcoming album this year.
ABOUT SATVA
On the 10th of January 2021, in the city of Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia, Satva was formed. Satva is a balinese word for “story/story telling”. The most important aspect of human interaction. Conveying their inner thoughts and stories through their songs that will make you scream and shout, Satva will bring up feelings that make you want to riot. With Satva it’s a wild ride!
